For more than 15 years, The Garcia Project has been bringing audiences remarkably authentic recreations of full, classic Jerry Garcia Band shows from 1976–1995. This isn’t a “greatest hits” tribute or simply a collection of Jerry songs. Each performance is based on an actual Jerry Garcia Band setlist from a specific night and era, recreated with the arrangements, tempos, instrumentation, gear, groove and feel that made those shows so special. The result is something that goes far beyond hearing familiar songs. It’s about recreating the Jerry Garcia Band experience as it actually happened — the warmth, the soul, the deep grooves, the beautiful ballads, the improvisation and that unmistakable healing tone. Jacklyn LaBranch, who sang with the Jerry Garcia Band for more than a decade, said it beautifully:“They remind me of what it felt like to sing these beautiful songs with Jerry Garcia.” And longtime Grateful Dead publicist and Jerry Garcia biographer Dennis McNally said:“…they almost make me feel like I’m back in, say, 1992 at the Warfield.” Those who have experienced The Garcia Project before already know why their audiences return year after year. The genre-fluid, eclectic rock ensemble has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of Umphrey’s McGee and Widespread Panic, songwriting of John Prine, experimental psychedelia of Pink Floyd, progressive jazz-infused rock of Frank Zappa, and off-color humor of Ween and They Might Be Giants. Including elements of crowd participation, off-the-cuff comedic bits, haphazard choreography, musical improvisation, and surprise musical guests, each Kendall Street Company concert is an experience unlike any other. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry. Just remember to stay hydrated. —– Lee Ross is a one man party band from Massachusetts. He has played shows all over the eastern US and eastern Canada. Using saxophone, keyboards, and flute he live-loops all sorts of funky sounds and grooves to create a wild musical experience. It’s a dance party for everyone’s universe! Lee Ross has opened for lots of acts including Maceo Parker, Kendall Street Company, Doom Flamingo, Big Something, Natalie Brooke, The Magic Beans, Prince Bowie, Bearly Dead, and many more. In addition to solo shows, he has played saxophone on stage with a variety of artists including George Clinton, Guster, State Radio, G. Love & Special Sauce, Twiddle, Lespecial, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Neighbor, and many others.
